These are the only ducklings I have left. We decided to keep these 3 beauty's. Funny thing is this isnt the hen that hatched them. She's laying on her own nest right now

I know right. I couldn't believe my eyes. Their mom is pretty much done being protective broody hen.

Do you think maybe she's their biological mom and somehow they know? Cause like I said she wasn't the one that hatched them, Alice did but it was a communal nest

Is the caruncle that reduced on all your birds? I have not seen a hen with that tiny of a mask. They sure are sweet! We're waiting until later in the season to let ours set.

My hens are only 1 year old I think, some of them have a little more caruncles but not much
