You would hear soft pips responding to the whistling. I think all you can do is hope for the best at this point, but def try these things. Homemade bators require so much attention, you might need to tweak it a bit and keep a hygrometer/thermometer inside for the next hatch. I have not, but I definitely will since the incubator is 1 ft. away from me as we speak (overprotective mother) I'll also try to whistle a little bit, but when I whistle what should I be listening for? I also had some difficulties with starting lockdown since I have a homemade bator-I couldn't get the temp. down and the humidity up! I finally regulated it on the night of day 21. Like I said I candled them on day 18 & 20 and I already said about the veins and all and I DID see some movement- like slow baby chick movement.
