Update on super hatch day...I did find room for my 76 jumbo nrown and they are noe 3 weeks old, half in a nattert and half in a pen. I am getting $5 per bird and have sold a couple dozen , mostly to peple starting their own colony. My original eghs were shipprf from California to miami and are huge womderful bitds. I think I wont have to buy them next time they stary tp lau in a few weeks.

I weighed a few of my jumbo brown coturnix quail yesterday.

My largest mature hen weighed 13.4 oz, another hen 11.3 oz, the cock weighed 10.2 oz.

My 5 week olds were... hen 8.1 oz, cock 7.3 oz. The cock was already trying to breed the hens. Hope they start laying soon!

These are my first quail. Are these good weights for jumbo coturnix?

I sell quail eggs to a professional chef. He sent me back some pickled quail eggs last time he picked up more eggs. One was a double yolk! That is the first time I've seen a double yolk quail egg!

I just got 100 Northern Bobwhite eggs in the mail. They will be going in the incubator in the morning..I hope this goes well. I have hatched out several geese and have about 20 turkeys hatching next week.

I candled mine last night and I culled 18 eggs.

Just put in 500 bobwhite eggs and 120 ringneck pheasant tonight. This is the biggest batch so far this year. I also have about 250 coturnix and a handful of buttons in right now too.
