all who are hatching quail

Yeah. I had to help get some of the membrane off that had dried on it. My humidity was a little low. It was about 3 days early after checking the calendar and the second one hasn't moved. I am going to candle it tonight and see if I can see any movement and add some more water to raise the humidity. It is super cute but so clumsy compared the the quail.

The last quail chick that hatched is about the size of your button chicks and hasn't really grown much. It's toes are still a little curled and it looks more fuzzy then the other chicks. It is cute and so fun to watch.
Oh neat! I had a jumbo brown coturnix hatch 2 days after the others and I can still pick him out from the group. All the others are getting feathered out but he is all fluff still

this little guy hatched about an hour after the others. He doesn't look like he's grown at all and his baby fluff is super short. It's weird

Halfway through the incubating process and my five year old decided he had nothing better to play with, so he turned up the heat on the eggs. Temp got up to 113. Don't know how long it was there but worst case scenario, a couple of hours. 80 eggs down the drain.

Just joined, have 25 jap quail eggs in that had developed by day 10 on candling. Complete novice with homemade incubater and on day one and two the humidity got too high. It is day 17 in five minutes and im convinced none will hatch! These were from ebay 36 in total of which one was damaged in the post 4 never started developing and 5 developed blood rings in early stages of development. None have wiggled that I have seen-is that normal or should they be moving??

I rarely ever see them wiggle and I hatch them in droves. Maybe I don't stare hard enough....Don't worry too much about wiggling and such, something will hatch. And they aren't on a schedule so what hatches will hatch between now and day 19.

Thank you, I keep telling myself that they will be fine but every youtube vid of quail hatching seems full of jiggling eggs!! I messed up on the humidity at the beginning as I forgot that the uk we have such humid air conditions anyway (this weeks outdoor average relative humidity was 72 where I live!) so by adding water I got the humidty up to about 75 in the first few days of development so I keep thinking they will burst their air sacks only to find its full of water :( Not particularly good at being patient so twiddling my thumbs and worrying probably needlessly. Thanks for being the voice of reason :)
