do you leave eggs in a carton to hatch? I've thought about leaving mine in the Turner to hatch so i don't have to open the incubator at all. I was worried it would make it harder for them to hatch.

This is my first hatch. I'd heard of others leaving them in the carton, so I tried it. So far so good. They don't seem to be having any trouble with the situation though.

I put them big end up. If you continue reading on the subject you'll find that's how most people say to sit them. Even if not in a carton.

don't stress over it. Give them a day or two. Sometimes they take a little longer.

after a couple failed attempts due to incubator issues i was the same with this last hatch. I checked them every half hour for the last 4 days. Only 19 hatched out of 50

I asked my neighbor that has quail for a few eggs to put in with mine. I was basically looking for the larger eggs to hatch. She sent me home with 43 eggs out of her incubator. They are on day 13. So only three days till hatch day. I only wanted about 10 eggs so i could get more than the four females that i have now. She really suprised me with all those eggs. It looks like i could get about 150 quail eggs in my home made incubator if i wanted to. My wife would not be happy with me however.
