What do u mean? How did u know one didn't make it if u didn't see the casualty? Is DH the delivery co, did they open the package before you recieved them?

LOL DH stands for "dear husband". My hubby picked them up from the post office, and took the dead baby away before I got home.

Does anyone know where I can get some large breed silver appleyard chicks or hatching eggs this time of year?

look up Meyers Hatchery. Not sure, but I was looking for chicks on their site today and they had alot of ducklings avail, if thats what your looking for.

Thank you! I looked and it looks like they don't carry the Silver appleyard ducks. I'm on the live chat with someone from there right now though.

Nope. She said they may add them to the list in 2014. She will put it in the suggestion box. I hope I can find some soon so they will start laying around spring.

Mt healthy hatchery had another year of salmonella problems with chicks. While it may not affect your chicks it could make children/ elderly sick. Welp hatchery sells year round, I am expecting 40 chicks tomorrow. They had all of the breeds that I wanted except for the silver phoenix which will be available again in the Spring. Acceptable considering breeding/hatching reputation of the phoenix
