We have found this forum super helpful. I hatched 13coturnix females and they are laying beautifully! There's only one problem: The eggs hurt my stomach and make life generally miserable for a few hours after I eat them. Has anyone had this issue and resolved it?

Chicken eggs don't really bother me, especially not like the quail eggs!

Thanks for any help. I really like haviing quail and hope I can do something to fix this..

Thank you!!

Aww, I'm sorry to hear that. Different types of bird eggs contain different types of proteins... so it's quite common for folks to be allergic to one type and not others.

I'm not sure there's much you can do about it... sorry. :(

BUT, some folks can eat them in baked goods even if they can't eat them fresh... but quail eggs really are best boiled or fried.

Wish I could be more help!
