Alligator people here!

I love alligators and crocodiles. My favorite reptile is the Australian saltwater crocodile. I loved watching The Crocodile Hunter when I was a kid. Couldn't get enough of it.

Raised 2 gators when I was about 16. Spent the summers in a pen with a kiddy pool. Winter they were kept in the bath tub.

We also had a raccoon an a polecat. Would not recommend a raccoon they are dangerous.

This will be sad...and may rile people up, but here in Florida - they are a real nuisance!!! They belong here, and the waters belonged to them lonnnnnnng before we got in - but they are a big P.I.A....kind of like black bears were to us in Wisconsin, deer in Maine, squirrels...etc.

They all belong here, but they can make life more difficult for sure. To deny this is, well....denial.

Since the illegality to kill them whenever...our area now has a lottery where folks enter their names to try and win a chance at hunting the 'gators during the once a year hunt - I think it's 150 or 100 people who can win? There's a lot of very stringent rules/regs to follow during the hunt and if you're found out to be breaking those rules, you're facing a huge fine and big trouble besides that.

We fish a lot and see them in the rivers - brackish water, these suckers are HUGE

I actually have 2 in backyard! they don't bother us. we get one or two here or there, I'm in central florida, only had to put one down due to the fact it was aggressive. My kids actually fish within 20 -30 ft
