Chirping
Here is the short version. I had 5 cinnamon queens 3-4 years old and all four of the 3-year-olds were laying consistently. The 4 year old is done laying several months before.
One day a fox got in to our fenced in yard and killed two of the 3-year-olds. It was traumatic to say the least. I found the four year old inside the coop. We finally found the remaining 2 three year olds in our driveway hiding behind the truck wheels. Of course laying stopped.
I had wanted to add more hens anyway so about 4 weeks later we introduced 5 three-month old chickens - cross of RIR and leghorn. The breeder could not confirm if they were male or female but promised we could exchange any boys for girls. I expected laying to be on hold with my older girls as they got used to the new intruders.
They all get along now for the most part.
The queens went through a heavy molt about a month after the new chickens arrived.
The molt is over and everyone looks and acts healthy.
However, still no eggs at all!
And, I still don’t know if I have hens or roosters in the new group.
I need help from anyone with ideas on how to get my girls laying.
I have switched to game bird crumble about two weeks ago and nothing yet
