ok, maybe i am rushing things here, maybe a bit impatient?
our chickens, barred rocks, australorps, rhode island reds, golden laced wyandottes, and delawares will be 5 months old in a week and the roosters are crowing and trying to fertilize the hens but NO EGGS.
I have been speaking kindly with the girls every morning, a pep talk of sorts, to encourage them and cheer them on to egg laying, but not even a hint of interest.
Is it coming anytime soon or do i need to change things?
they are on start n grow by purina and get our table scraps daily. they are in the run and we catch all kinds of bugs for them, they get apples from the trees and live in clean conditions. I truly think they are some of the most spoiled in habitants on our property next to the children and cats.
i know it will happen eventually, guess i need to "quit lifting the lid on the cooking pot" as momma used to tell me.
COuld i do anything to help them?
