Almost like having babies or buying a house!

Thank you for all the attention to my troubles! I've just finished the electric fencing (on the outside of the coop and huge dog run around it, and realized that my poor chicks could shock themselves if they chase a fly too close to the fence and poke their heads out ! It seemed like a total loss, but I am going to add some chicken wire on the inside of the dog run high enough to prevent that from happening. I hope my family doesn't have too much appetite today (and my poor dogs can cross their legs a little longer), because somebody besides me is going to have to do the cooking! I think they're getting a little jealous of the chickens.

Yes, you had a rough start BUT, you survived the trial by fire - you are ready for anything.
You are just the right kind of person, to have chickens, inside and out. Welcome to the flock

Thank you! LOL!! At the rate I am hatching babies to start my flock....I will have chickens 'inside and out' all winter long! LOL! I do have one question: At what point is a chicken 'fully feathered' I have a buff orpington and a Plymouth barred rock that are 3 months old, and they LOOK fully feathered, but if I lift the feathers on their backs, I can see hundreds more new feathers coming in. I want to be sure not to leave anyone without adequate feathers in temperatures too cold for them this winter.
