Look who I found outside today with frozen hair! She was acting totally normal but I caught her and picked her up and her hair was rattling! Babs(haven’t decided if it’s short for Babushka or Baba Yaga yet) is a Pavlovskaya and this is her first winter, whenever she drinks water she gets it in her hair due to the bowl I use for them but it got too cold today! Makes me worry since I’ll have a babysitters taking care of her for the next couple weeks but they have chickens too so maybe they’ll make sure she’s okay… she loves the hairdryer too, tries to deny it but she loves it 😂

Gorgeous bird.

How do you like this breed? Someone is always selling them on my local Craigslist and it always interests me. How is their temperament and laying?
Mine is too young to lay, she’s four months old. But she is so funny and sweet I love her so much, I’ve read that the breed does not lay much but is very very docile and friendly and I think the breeder said broody too, so similar to a silkie. I would highly recommend Pavlovskayas, their personalities make up for their lack of laying. You might need to trim their hair though!

I was told the roosters can occasionally be anti-social so careful with that if you plan to get a roo

Thank you! Good to know. Might be a good option if I need a good broody in the future. Right now I don't because I can't have roosters where I live, but in the future I definitely plan to live somewhere where I can hatch my own chicks.

Oh I’m not sure if it’s all of them but Babs is also a very very agressive eater… she slams her face into the bowl then the ground then eats the food, so there’s that. She also dunks her whole face in the water bowl, so if you do get them in the future and they seem like they can’t eat the food or have something wrong while eating, they’re fine

That is so odd but sounds like it would be comical to watch!
