Almost Tragic Mistake, ends Hilariously!

I was ridiculously panicky when we first got our girls - every day driving home from work for the first few weeks, I managed to convince myself that something tragic had happened during the day; and every time one of the girls slept too long, got a little wobbly on the legs for a minute, sneezed, or sighed I was sure that they had caught some horrible disease and would be dead by morning. Five weeks into it I was so exhausted and worn down from anxiety that I finally forced myself to relax a little. Finding the "poo- a chicken-keepers guide" webpage helped a lot.

You know about caecal poo and chicken sunbaths (we call them "sun-spazzes"), right? Knowing about those two things knocked my overbearing maternal anxiety way back. Good luck with your little darlings!

Our Pit/Lab mix used to do what we called "bowling for chickens." She would creep around behind a group of hens that were pecking away, minding their business, then BAM! she'd charge through the midst of them & scatter them.

Now, Pepper's older and so are the chickens. They tolerate each other.
