Aloha!
We are from The big island of Hawaii and are trying to teach our two daughters the importance of sustainable living. I purchased chickens from my cousin who ordered them from a breeder in Texas. She told me they were a variety of “heavy layers”. Every time I send her pics of them she tells me something different about their breed. They are 5 months old and one of them is laying little eggs. I have been checking out books from the library but I can’t be sure of their breed. Can someone help me?
I am so grateful to have found this forum and I look forward to reading all your stories.

I'm not sure on the first bird, but the 2nd is a White Plymouth Rock, the 3rd is a Black Sexlink, and the 4th A Dark Cornish.

You can always post photos of your birds at "what breed or gender is this." The folks there will do their best to sort them out for you.

Hello, welcome to Backyard Chickens! Congratulations for becoming part of the flock!

I agree with @Leahs Coop on the 3 last breeds. #1 confused me, she has the pattern of a partridge chantecler but is the color of a Rhode Island Red.
Does your cousin know the breed of your pullets?
