Aloha Chicken Ohana (family)!

It's nice to join and be a part of this community.

We live on the Big Island of Hawaii and previously had chickens about 9 years ago. We are getting 32 chicks in a couple weeks and are gearing up for them by building a new hen house and coop. One of the great things about BYC is that it creates a community of members who have completely different concerns (you deal with lava rock; I deal with snowstorms and muddy spring runs), but who are united in their appreciation of poultry.

I'm know there are other chicken folk in Hawaii, and I'm sure they will have some solid advice for you.
