Already thinking about adding on to coop

I have been thinking about upgrading my coop later this year (my chicks are only 3 1/2 weeks lol)

Just brainstorming today with the crap weather. I am thinking about adding a 3 seasoned porch for the chickens. Adding to the side of the coop and putting in a cat door with some rubber lining to kind of seal it off from the coop so the coop stays warmer in the winter months. My question is, would the chickens figure out a cat door? Maybe if I showed them?

I'm all new to chickens so I have no idea.

Folks have used 'pet strip doors' to block wind and wild birds from entering coop.
Don't think a chicken will push thru a solid flap door.
