Alrighty, have a looky please: What am I?

Well, if they're that young, yeah, roosters. Bummer!

We should start a byc boycott of tsc chicks next spring. More problems with mis-represented chicks from that chain.........

barred rocks based more on coloring than combs look to be cockerels but being hatchery birds i would wait till you at least start to see saddle feathers and pointed hackles as i have seen hatchery rocks look like yours (or you see them crowing)

the other cockerel looks some what like a black sex link although they are supposed to look more like a barred rock...there should be people at the fair that can help with breed when your filling the paper out to put on the cage (or at least ours down here does or should i say they some what know what breeds are what)

Barred Rock Delaware, huh? Thanks!

I'm wondering on the Barreds if I don't have one of each...I pinned both in the coop together so I could have a closer examination of them. We used to be able to tell them apart as chicks, one had one white dot on the head and one had two. As they grew, they began to look so much alike we couldn't tell them apart, so now they are referred to jointly as "the twins". Well, today as I examined them, it looks as if one is growing in saddle feathers. I believe one of them is crowing as well- hopefully the one growing in his tail. Lovelace, the cross, has already been crowing too, and they typically do it inside the coop before letting them out, so it's difficult to catch them in the act.

At any rate, it's probably the last time I buy from TSC. My original plan was to purchase from McMurray, however my daughter had a hatching project at school and received one of the chicks to bring home (Lovelace). Hubby and I had to quick run up to purchase some mates and supplies.

I plan to purchase some more from McMurray next month...a few more pullets and heavies for meat.
