Dh and I were on a no flour, no sugar diet several years ago. Dh loved it, he lost thirty pounds, I only lost about ten then stayed there no matter what I did. Well, DH wants to go back on it again. We did eat very well and saved a bunch of money.
Dh is not a bread person, I am. I love my bread, and miss it when on that diet. I still make all the goodies that I usually make, I just have to alter the recipes a bit. DGD has sanwiches for lunch every school day, if I make bread for her , I WILL eat some now and then.
I am trying to find online resources for alternative flours. We will be able to use any corn flours, any brown rice flours, flax, oat, soy, buckwheat, chickpea, quinoa, and any nut flour/meal. I have found places for a few of these, but can only get them in like 1-2lb. bags. With using these instead of flour for baking, I would use that amount up very quickly. I am looking for 5-10lb.bags/containers.
I am also looking for a source for 5lb. containers of wild rice, I can only find them in 1lb.
