due to some unlucky circumstances recently we have like no money left and we have no bird food, what can I feed my birds for a few days until we get some money?
anything from around the house that i should have? we dont really have much stuff atm though but any suggestions?

I'm sorry to hear of your difficulties. This is what I feed as a 'treat' food that could temporarily substitute for parrot food....
a mix of any or all of the following diced to the appropriate sizes of the birds: rice, noodles, cooked beans, small sliced tomatoes, scrambled eggs, cooked carrots (diced small), cooked broccoli (or raw), cauliflower (raw or cooked), bananas, strawberries, good cereal (low sugar - like chex mix or cheerios), spinach, dandelion leaves (from safe non-spray source), clover leaves, violet flowers, daylilly flowers.....basically just about whatever you would eat, they could eat.

Now, if you're talking about chickens, if you have a lawn mower, mow the lawn with clippings as small as you can, let the chickens sort through that - any worms you can find, any bugs you can catch...dandelion and clover are welcome as well.

I hope this gives you some ideas.

Thankyou very much I was super worried about my babies,
We didnt have most of the things you mentioned but I managed to convince them all to eat some scrambled eggs and apple, Our payment from ac came through today so we finally have our money and plenty of bird food, I'll be keeping some in the cupboard for emergencies like this next time.
