Always have poop on it's behind (pic enclosed)

This lone chick always has poop on it's behind. Is this normal? It doesn't bother me but I just want to make sure it's ok.

It might be pasty butt. If left unchecked, this can kill a chick. Wash it off whenever you see it. And check all vents as much as you can (several times daily).

I just put it's behind under the faucet running warm water. It was very hard and crusty, but I got it all off of her.

Vent, butt, egg-laying tube. You have to push the fluff aside to see it.
When she;s wet, you have to separate her from the other chicks for a time or they'll peck at the wet feathers.

Ok thanks for your help! I really think this same crusty poop has been on her since day 2. I always thought it was wet but I was wrong.

I had a chick have the same problem. She always had poo on her rear end. I would just check the vent and make sure it wasnt blocked at all. Now she (a barred rock) is the main hen in the brooder.

Just keep it clean and watch the vent for blockage.

After you wash it, rub a little olive oil or baby oil on her fanny. That will help keep new poo from sticking.
