I built an 8x8 coop and had plans of getting different breeds of hens and 1 rooster...I bought 2 cochin pairs and now want to just have pairs...My 8x8 coop is now going to be 3 4x5 coops with 11x5 runs on each....and will have to build more for upcoming chicks that are now 3 weeks old....Moral of story is if I would have thought about it first I wouldn't have wasted time building a big coop and then tore it down to build smaller ones....

Last coop addition gave me over 1000 square feet of coop space on the one building. It stillisn't enough!

I would have kept the big one, but after spending $650 on it the wife was pretty mad. So I had to use the wood from it for the others..

We are building a 7x10 coop right now and I already know it won't be large enough!

But I am so excited just to get a coop that I will manage for a yr. and then build onto it! I designed it that way.....
