Nice to meet you Melanie, once you get your first few you will be hooked! I started out with with 6 straight runs last year or the year before I can't remember LOL, anyway two became Roos, four became hens.

I had a Polish and a Silkie Roo, as for the hens I had - Ameraucana, Easter Egger, California White, and a Rhode Island Red. Sadly the Polish passed away...

Out of all 6, we now have 40+! I incubated their offspring, I now have some lovely mixes. I also have some ducks and geese.

Thanks for the warm welcome! I've known several Siamese cats in my life, each one being a real character! Love the names too! I guess you will appreciate that we named our eldest daughter Amanda after Spock's mother.

Looking forward to learning a lot here and making some friends who appreciate chickens.
