Am I a RIR? (Warning: pic heavy)

Hello

My Rhode Island Red hen Laura is now 5 months old and is soon to lay. I'm quite excited of finally having to taste a fresh egg. She's still not squatting though.

But, is she really a RIR? Am I waiting for nothing? There have been odd markings on her feathers. I check the websites to know the characteristics of a RIR: yellow skin and maroon-colored feathers. I checked Laura and she has yellow skin and is starting to grow maroon feathers on her head. But she also has black markings on the back of her neck and some white spots on her body. So I armed myself with my camera(phone) and turned on the computer straight to BYC.com to be sure. Here are some pics:

My friend was holding her in her arms and she said that I put my ear on Laura's back to hear something. Then Laura pecked me in my teeth! Spit! Spit! I tasted something awful afterwards. Then I carried Laura to pet her, then she attempted to "kiss" me again! Luckily I evaded it, though.

Can you confirm if she's a RIR? Oh, and can you guess what's her gender?

She looks like she might be a RIR mix of some kind. And she looks like a she to me. The markings on her look kinda mille fleur like

I am not sure she is a RIR, looks more like a sex link, Cinnamon Queen or Red Star. Could be a mix. She is pretty and looks like she is a friendly on too!

I wish she would still lay strong even if she's not a RIR. I fear that she might be a poor layer...... and oh yes, she is friendly - and by friendly, I mean extremely friendly - she never hurt anyone so far and likes to be held. Thanks again! I'll try to research some more.

Maybe she is what the hatcheries call a "production red", which I think is a RIR crossed with other good-laying breed to get a good layer. I'm sure she will lay well for you!
They peck teeth because they are shiny and yummy-looking. Eyes, too, watch out!

When my RIR's were that old they were a real dark red, your looks more like a red-star cross.
