Am I a RIR? (Warning: pic heavy)

I don't want to confuse by adding my opinion but she may be a Production Red. I bought some of those chicks this year and some RIR. They say that the PR is a lighter color of red than the RIR and both are very good layers

By the way, where are you from? It looks nice and warm there. It's cold here in Missouri

I have two hens that look just like her and I was told they were red sex link, and they are excellent layers, but mine are very skiddish. One lays good size eggs and the other lays smaller eggs.

I would say she is in the Philippines,
so who knows what kind of chicken that is they are everywhere there just running around

I would say it is a mix with possible RIR and NH in there. Most of these hens will be "good" layers that will lay for longer periods of time before "burn out" which can happen in highly bred production strains.

OMG, I hope you're all right! All this excitement on eggs is killing me. Squat now, little hen! Thank you very much y'all for all the info. I'll research the breeds you mentioned.

I think she's a little close to a RIR and a Red Star cross. Not sure though, she's quite close to a Red Star. But the New Hampshire from OEGBman - that's a very good breed! I knew they were familiar - I see a lot of them here in the Philippines. And oh yes - lots of chickens are scurrying about here. Here, there, everywhere - chickens(most are free-range, you can see some in the streets). I hope all your answers are right!!! Thanks again! More info is greatly appreciated.

They peck eyes too? OMG - I often carry her in front of my face! I better be careful next time. Thanks for the info.

Oh and about the mask my friend was wearing - she has some allergy problems with chickens. But she also loves chickens and no allergy can stop her! (she was disgusted at chickens at first, but chickens are just too lovable)

My guess would be a new hamp or new hamp cross. I have Pure RIR and they look nothing like her (should be much darker with a bright red short comb). She give give you eggs though that will be much better than her kisses. LOL

Yup, New Hampshires are pretty close. I checked Feathersite.com and those pics are extremely familiar and there are a lot of New Hampshires here. I also have a young roo of the same breed as my hen that is starting to look like a New Hampshire. Thank you so much to all of you! More info is appreciated.
