Am I a Roo??

I really hope it is a hen, as that is what I originally wanted as I purchased these birds as my egg layers.

I was just surprised as the waddle and comb grew quickly, I have a great deal to learn yet obviously.
That's why I ask, so I can learn for my self and then eventually pass on my knowledge in time.

I also noticed the hackle feathers were similar to my for sure hens, and there are no spur bumps as some one else outside BYC mentioned that would be evident.

I wonder why this one is a different color and is much lighter than everyone else, as it came from the same flock...
???

Thanks everyone!!!

Pullet, and she is either laying or about to start. They are not red sussex. Probably a red sussex cross of some sort with enough genetic variability to accoount for the difference in coloration. Would not be surprised if they carried some NHR or production red breeding. edited to add Ducks waddle, chickens have wattles. Chicken humor.
