Am I being reasonable

I need help. My rooster has become incredibly aggressive crowing more and breeding his hens way more than he should. I was collecting eggs today and he attacked me I was trying to kick at him and push him away but he would not back down. He kept jumping at me so I backed down. We have had preadetor issues and the last attack I found him in the front yard. I am sick of his attitude but I don’t have the heart to cull him. I want him to leave but I am scared he will become soup.

I have a testy rooster that runs with 3 pet hens from daylight to dark. I've caught him several times and held him in my lap stroking his neck feathers while discussing chicken & dumplings. After he has been thoroughly humiliated I turn him lose and he doesn't cause troubles for a few days. Then the process gets repeated. I show him that he is not the boss. That he has to let me be the boss.

So you really haven’t “cured” him. He just backs off for a few days until he forgets his lesson.

OP, you’re the only one who can decide how much aggression you’re willing to put up with. I will say, since I have grandkids who like to help pick eggs, and a house/pet sitter occasionally, I will not keep an aggressive rooster.

OP, you’re the only one who can decide how much aggression you’re willing to put up with. I will say, since I have grandkids who like to help pick eggs, and a house/pet sitter occasionally, I will not keep an aggressive rooster.

We recently discovered canker in our flock so we are going to wait until their treatment is done to send him away but we already have someone interested in him.

I had a roo that wouldn't attack me, but if anyone walked in the yard, I'd have to coral him into the run. One day I went inside and within seconds heard my wife screaming. Pressure cooker time..

I'm not sure there is as cure for a Black Sex Link Rooster. He's been behaving a lot longer this time around than he ever has.
