My thoughts?
I'm not sure what chickens go for in other places but here, I give EE's away. I hatch a lot but can't keep them all of course. I also can't be sure how many will hatch. Some I'm sure are Olive Eggers.
I would just let it go and not go back to her. Olive Eggers are easy enough and IMO not that big a deal.
I bought Birchen Marans from an auction site and they have copper in them. Now I'm working to improve them.
I don't expect anything good from anyone. Even if they say they're a breeder, and that includes folks on BYC. No one can predict what a pair of birds will throw. The young may be from two perfectly nice show birds but the offspring can't be guaranteed. That's why I don't get upset. I've just had to learn that this is life. Of course if they turn out nice I'm pleasantly surprised.
I had two very nice SLW and they looked good but laid very little. I'd be surprised if I got a dozen eggs a year from them.
I had a gorgeous Barred Rock rooster but Lord have mercy he hit me many times and it hurt. I didn't blame the breeder. How would they know the Devil might rear his ugly head in there.
However, you have to look around. Once went to buy a Pekinese pup. This lady had a bazillion dogs. I don't know how she knew who hooked up with who. She told me how she mated them but she couldn't be sure the female didn't tangle with some other male before she realized the female was in heat. I didn't buy a dog from her of course. BUT I did buy one from someone else and the dog never went into heat. They said no she hadn't been spayed but she never did go into heat.
Take the hit this time and use caution the next. If the place doesn't look clean or if things don't look right don't be afraid to say no thanks.
I tell everyone, I don't show birds. I tell everyone I have EE's even though my roo is an Lavender Aruacana, Maran, or EE over the girls. That I just like the colored eggs. I get green, olive, blue, blue green and the customers are happy with the eggs.
I explain what happened with the Birchens and how things are. Of course there are buyers who think raising a hen to POL is cheap and don't want to pay much. They can go to and auction for a $5 bird.
Are you being unreasonable? No, but that doesn't matter to the person who sold you the birds. You didn't get what you paid for and the onus is on them to make it right. IMO even if it's at their loss. If they won't then don't be afraid to warn others away from her and give them her name. Tell her that's what you intend to do. $35 is way to much for an OE any way.
I am sorry for your trouble.
