I have a thermometer question, I know there have been a lot of them lately but I want to make sure what I am doing is correct.
In my incubator I have 4 thermometers that are not close to being the same. One of the four is a unit that has a probe, comparing the probe to the unit itself I have a .1 degree difference (which is fine). But the two others are vastly different than the unit with the probe. I did calibrate the probe on the one with a water wiggler and a human digital thermometer (one of those that say they are correct + - .1 degree) with resulting in a difference of .1 degrees. The other two thermometers show a difference of 1.8 and 2.6 degrees higher than the probe outside of the water wiggler. Am I correct in using the unit with the probe as the accurate temperature?
The unit with the probe and acurite both have hygrometers. I also calibrated them earlier and found the unit with the probe to be off 6% and the other acurite only off by 3%. I keep getting hung up on the fact that the humidity level in the thermometer that reads 2.6 degrees higher than the one with the probe is more accurate so the temperature must be correct.
