Am I crazy?

I have my first broody right now. I know she gets up off the nest pretty much once a day. However, every few days I give her a little food in her nest which she always scarfs down.

I don't have experience to know which way is better. She did just hatch her first little chick yesterday so .. I'm happy!

Oh yeah...i do that to my broody right now. But, make sure she still comes out every other day or everyday, because she needs to rest out of the nest and just relax. Plus, she needs to go poo really bad, and it is bad for her to go in the nest box. GOOD LUCK!

Thanks for your reply. I think its awesome her being on there.I got here from a man that just sells eggs.I didnt think she would go broody.She has polish in her she is mixed.So i'm really suprized to she this. pretty cool

I normally do not feed my hens on the nest because I believe if they are hungry or thirsty they can and will get up. But...I did water my RIR hen when she was broody because she sat on a nest over six weeks before she actually got a few chicks (the first set of eggs did not hatch).
