Am I crazy?!

Whats the longest yall have had to wait for the SECOND egg? :)
6 days for #2nd egg,
8 days for #3rd,
10 days for #4th
11 days #5th #6th
12 days #7th #8th #9th #10th
13 days #11th #12th
OMG finally a Dozen!!!

It took 17 weeks 5 days(bought day old chicks)for the first egg ha! and now thirteen days for the first DOZEN!!!!
I have confirmed 2 golden sexlinks laying two eggs a day.... now suspecting 2 other hens in the starting up phase because of the 4 egg day yesterday.
9 pullets total (4) 19 week 5day olds and (5)18 week 5 day olds

I would just like to update, that I got another egg this morning -- and it's the first I have gotten since those two that I found 16 days ago. It was kinda bloody too, so does that mean it was a different hen? It was on the floor again, but so was the golf ball and most of the pine shavings that were in the box. Not sure what that means... maybe some box improvements are in order?

Since they're laying outside the boxes, I'd introduce them to where they need to go. Put them in the nest boxes, where the fake eggs are, and let them check it out. Maybe it'll give them some ideas.

I had ANOTHER egg waiting for me when I got home from church! IN the nest box! Yay yay yay!

BUT whoever laid it, knocked ALL the shavings and the golf balls out of ALL the boxes before laying straight on the wood. Why would she do that?!

Either way, I am excited. :)

Like Goldilocks, she had to try them all until she found the one that was "just right"!

Congrats!!! glad your getting some eggs finally!
do you have a good lip on the boxes? mine were doing that and we modified put a four inch lip in the fronts and all shavings and eggs stay in boxes, and the hens seem to like them better. Less traffic, they only enter to lay, other non-layers stay out just looky now ;-)

Well no eggs today... :-( They got me going and excited and I'm a big let down today. Can not WAIT until they are laying daily. Waiting two weeks in between a good breakfast isn't going to cut it! :)

We have a two inch lip, maybe we can make them bigger... but I do know that they would have to work a bit to get the golf balls out of the nests. They are trying hard to empty them!
