i’m adding hot wires around my new enclosure to keep coyotes and raccoons away.

i’m also thinking of adding a dig apron, but i’m not sure how.

my fences are 7.5’ tall 1” hex wire fencing. basically pvc coated chicken wire. am i gonna need to put down timbers to anchor the apron?

in my head, if the apron is just attached to the fence and something tries to dig, it’s gonna pull the whole fence down.

am i overthinking this or do i need to go get a bunch of lumber?

Get long tent stakes and hog rings. Your apron won’t move because they are standing on it trying to dig. Hog rings every 6-8" makes fence one piece. Hot wire 4-6” off the ground and 6" outside makes that corner untouchable for something to pressure that corner looking for weak spots
