Right after Scout was hatched, he got out from under Mom Agatha and couldn't get back under. When I found him he was lifeless - cold, neck and feet extended, eyes closed, and no signs of breathing. I was sick. I put his little body on top of the brooder pen and went in the house to get a glass of warm water to water candle the remaining eggs, planning to dispose of it when I was done candling. I came back and when I was about halfway through candling the rest of the eggs I heard or or saw something....I'm not sure which....and I grabbed that baby and tucked him into my bra, yelling at Ken as I ran to the house to set up the brooder. I kept that ice cold little body in my bra until the brooder had been put together and warmed up for him. He survived. I, on the other hand, had goosebumps for another hour. Man, he was cold in there!
