Am thinking about selling my rooster

I have a beautiful Barred Rock Rooster. He is good to his girls and finds them treats and stands guard over them. I just think he over does it a bit. He hates my guts. And my DGD. They don't free range but have plenty space in the run and coop.

I am just really tired of being on guard when I go into the run and coop to collect eggs. I cannot just go in there. I have a piece of corragated tin that I carry in the gate with me and I cover the pop door and open the people door, gather the eggs, uncover the pop door, close the people door and me and my piece of tin leave. There are times when I am going into the other coop and he throws himself at the gate. When I say he hates me I am not overstating.

So, I believe that next weekend I will plop a laundry basket on him, put him in a crate and take him to the swap. I am telling you this is a beautiful rooster....hate it that he is mean. But enough is enough!

You are gonna sell him, knowing he is super-agressive? Wouldn't it be kinder to the poor soul who buys him just to send him to freezer camp?

I would not sell him and act like he is not what he is.

He actually is not aggressive towards my husband.

And yes, I would sell him. We have lots of folks that come through looking for just roosters. Most go into the pot.

But yeah, I would sell him, I just would not misrepresent him.

I just don't want to eat him myself.

Gosh folks....kinda feel like I have just been in the pen with him.....

As long as you let the buyer know his aggression problems I don't see a problem with selling him
