(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? I am fairly new to chickens. Just got my chicks from TSC on May 7, 2023.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now? I currently have 9 chicks and 2 guineas. A friend has 5 seramas in the incubator for me.
(3) What breeds do you have? I have 2 Cinnamon Queens; 2 Guineas; 1 Rhode Island Red; 1 Buff Orpington; 1 feather footed bantam; 1 Black sex link; 1 Wyandotte, 1 buckeye and one I cannot remember. Will soon have Seramas, as well.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens? I love the idea of pets that can help feed us. I am also truly hyped about pee wee eggs for next easter! I love just sitting and watching the chickens and can't wait to see them grow.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies? I crochet, scrapbook, make jewelry, home remedies and essential oils.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. My sons are grown and still living in Kentucky where I am from. I moved to Tennessee to be with my husband. We have been married just over a year. I am 62 years old and a newlywed! LOL I have a degree in Forensic Science. I worked for the Houston Police Department Crime lab in Texas. But then my ex-husband joined the army. So, I eventually got a teaching certificate and have been teaching high school chemistry and physical science ever since. We have 6 cats... all house cats. I grew up showing horses and have always wanted a small homestead. Currently trying to figure out how to move a chicken coup from a friends' house to ours. Before the chicks are old enough to be outside.

(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community? :D
I was googling questions about my chicks. Looking for pics of babies to see if I could figure out what that last chick is.
