The one we gave up due to 24/7 roo behaviour with a BR which we also gave up (sold back to the lady who sold them to us). That one had yellow legs and a much redder comb

My 3 week old. Now that I look at the pic the RIR has more of a comb.

The older EE does not exhibit any of the behavious of the ones we gave back and I had hoped it would indacate a pullet.

I've read in some of my books and a few websites that Easter-Eggers are pretty difficult to vent-sex when they're young. Good luck with all that.

Here is my BSL at around 9-10 weeks old

I don't think the black one is a BSL (then again they are mutts), but it does look girly to me. Time will tell of course.

There is nothing wrong with Easter Eggers. I don't think they are inferior to Ameraucanas in any way except if you have interest in showing your birds.....which I have none. All I care about is friendliness and egg laying. I love my Easter eggers and wouldn't trade them for anything. They're among my best layers, they're very friendly, and they're gorgeous. What more could you want? Both of ours give light green blue eggs and they look great combined with the other brown and brown/pink eggs. Having said that you might want to keep your eye on that white EE..... its comb is looking a tiny bit wide and pink imho. I think you should take some new pics from different angles of all 3.

NM the comment about the white one. I read your post again....and it looks like you gave it back. It probably was a roo.

I have fallen in love with my EE's after dealing with only RIR's in the past these chicks are a total doll, very friendly and easy going and super easy to handle, my EE's are only 2.5 weeks old and i am having a blast watching all the different colors develop!!

Oh, wow! What a beauty you have...Yeah, Harriet may not be a black star, but she is a good chicken and I think I already love her lol. And, yeah, I'm happy with my decision to give the suspicious birds back. They made life hectic for the others and now they are all living far more peacefully.
