Wow those first pics in the OP were NICE.

We were going to climb Camelback Mountain and take pics, but alas, too many clouds.... wish we would have done it Friday night.

I missed it the night before last because I got off work too late to ge tthe camera and snap a few before it went down, it was absolutely HUGE Friday night but I did manage to get magnificent pictures last night even through the haze and constantly moving low lying wisps lol. If you like I can share a few of mine. But you did do a fantastic job, the last 4 are my favorites but 1 is beautiful too! Great job! Kudos!

missred, you should share yours here too for those who missed them in the other thread, they were wonderful!

fattie, I think a tripod would have helped a lot, although I have to say I do like the second one, looks like it's shooting through space!

I agree Fattie, the first couple of times I tried to do it mine turned out that way, unfortunately it was during the eclipse too so I ended up with a lot of cruddy pics and a couple of good ones at half past eclipse time lol. Try to find something to steady yourself. I stood on the side of the truck last night and used the roof as stability. Thanks dkvart for the compliments.

Those are the same two I posted in the other thread I dont want to share too many as I will be using some in a photography competition in the fall and dont want my work stolen. i hate to save two versions of an image, one with a watermark and one without. I cant submit watermarked images in the contest.

Mykee, I'm in northern Florida and went to the beach to get the pics, it was a bit hazy and the sun had just barely set when the moon started to rise. I did nothing to the photos other than shoot them, that was the progression of colors as it rose. I do have a telescope but have no idea how I would take a picture with it! This was shot with a Nikon D5000, nothing more.

This was actually only the second night (the first was the night before) that I took photos of the moon that showed any detail, in the past they all looked like white orbs... I took an on-line photography class that helped a lot as I learned how to set my aperature to get the detail. I'm nothing more than an very green amatuer. You might be interested in the photography course they will be offering here on BYC, look for it under hobbies (I'd post the link but I"m challenged in that way

I dont know who mykee is referring to but if it was me, No I didnt use a telescope, just my Fuji S2000HD no editing either

chickgirl6 they turned out very beautiful!

The ones I took on Friday turned out much better, less haze, and taken well after sunset, not like the one's I took Saturday.

My grandson, age 4 is studying the moon (and volcano's, and meteors... he's been checking out library books for nearly a year.... yeah, it's scarey how smart he is.) and I'm going to have walgreens make a poster size picture of the moon and have them ship it to him...he'll be tickled.

Thanks for sharing.
