This never happens. One of my chickens, a Rhode Island Red, has been eating her eggs. We have tried waiting it out and blowing out eggs and filling them with soap, but she has always managed to eat her egg! To top it off, she was our best layer. Then 3 days ago, she just stopped eating her eggs. We have gotten an egg every day since. I still can't believe it.

Yay! Keep her protein level raised just slightly by giving her tuna, catfood, cooked eggs or meat scraps. You could also supplement with chick or wild game bird starter. It may have been that she knew she needed more protein.

Or

She could have just gotten tired of eggs!

So...what changed?...other than she stopped eating them.

Hope she keeps it up. This summer I've found evidence twice of someone eating an egg and twice I've found an egg with a small hole pecked in it. So far I'm thinking it's all been accidental
