(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I have had chickens several times in my life. They are so much fun. I have a friend down the road who has given me 7 hens to start again & is hatching some chicks for me. I only want about 12 hens.

Orpington, red star, barred rock, and Easter egg hens
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Love getting the eggs and selling them to my neighbors and getting them gentled down so I can hold them.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Right now, these are my only hobby.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I have a sister that lives far away and that is the only family I know. This farm community is my family at the moment. I have 4 cats, one dog, 12 desert turtles and as I said 7 hens. I have lived on my property for 18 yrs now and I will have to move at some point because of my age. It doesn't get easier.

you finally join our awesome community?
I am not sure how I found this site, but I have been with you for a while. I enjoy the info. Now that I have chickens again, it is really helpful.
