I wanted to buy the Welsummer book by Batty and some of the book dealers do not want to ship the book to the US

Is there a way I can get the book shipped without getting all those customs and extra money rather than just the shipping cost from England to US??? Anyone that got a friend who can deal with PayPal, I can forward the money for shipping and pay the book dealer with PayPal or credit card and that friend can ship the book by mailing it to me.....

Has anyone dealt with that issue and still save money without getting stick with customs?

I order stencils from a company in Nottingham all the time it has never been a problem, how strange. They ship them straight to my door step, no customs that I am aware of.

Edited to add I have never ordered from UK Amazon.
