Hello,

Tomorrow I am visiting a farm in order to buy some white ambers I have read about the breed but they don't seem to mention how good they are at laying or there personality. If anyone has any personal experiences with this breed I would really appreciate you to share it with me. :D

Amber Whites are a Rhode Island Red X Rhode Island White hybrid which will probably give you somewhere between 250 to 280 eggs per year. They are good, dual purpose birds and relatively docile chickens, although they can occasionally be aggresive (particularly the roosters).

Based on the posts you've sent out, it appears the farm you are visiting carries a lot of good, utility breeds and strains. I can identify with that. As the years have gone by, I have become more utilitarian and currently only raise breeds that are good layers (with a few Easter Eggers thrown in because my granddaughter loves the colored eggs). Good luck with your chicken purchases.

Thank you I hope I find what I am looking for. :-)
