Out of six CCL eggs, 3 hatched. The obvious girl passed after hatch and one was an obvious boy. Then there's this chick... Light markings, no real head spot, decent eyeliner... I cant decide that it's definitely a boy. Photos at day 4. Thoughts? Thanks!

I think it is a boy because of the lack of stripes on the back. But it is a difficult one to determine for sure.
Thanks for having a guess! If it's helpful, this is a blurry photo of the chick at day 1 (Left/Top). There were some more distinct stripes then and it's much redder than the boy. (Right/bottom) Still... I'm guessing only time will tell with this one.

Yes, I think you are right. Time will tell. The chick doesn't have the usual chipmunk stripes on the back, so I am still thinking it's male, but then the lack of head spot is confusing, too. Maybe a CCL expert will show up and give better help than I can.

This chick is now one week old! Here's an updated photo... I think the wing feather pattern looks kinda female?

Nearly 3 weeks old now... Still quite ambiguous. I can't decide. Little comb and crest feathers happening. Very messy looking barring on the wings. Sigh. 😩 Anticipation is killing me. 😂

Ok so I got a chick with incredibly bad auto-sexing this spring, I actually thought I got a substitution of another breed from the hatchery. But then the head crest started coming in and folks on here helped me figure out she was just a very badly marked Legbar chick lol. I’ll post some pics here and comparing them might help you? I don’t think it is out of the realm of possibility that you have a girl. I’d keep an eye out for salmon colored breast feathers coming in, that’d be a pretty good indicator the chick is a girl. I've got my fingers crossed for you!

Thank you Tervuen! Yours turned into a lovely hen! I can only hope mine is as well, being the only survivor out of six eggs...
I have to say though, the wing feathers on mine look different to yours and are much lighter. Though, the barring isn't obvious like on that CCL mix boy next to it in my last photo. Also, no comb on yours at two weeks, where as mine had started. I'll keep crossing my fingers!
