Ameracanas and Araucanas

No, NNs are brown egg layers. Someone did breed some that laid blue eggs, but the hatchery NNs lay brown. Sorry!

Oh well...if the EE's lay brown eggs I guess I'll try again in the spring. Any suggestions on what to get and where to get it??

We have some wonderful members who sell true Ameraucanas and Araucanas, too. I'd suggest getting eggs or chicks from them. Pips and peeps (Jean) in Washington has Ameraucanas and hinkjc (Jody) has Araucanas.

You either have Ameraucanas or Easter Eggers, however, if they are hatchery stock, they are most likely Easter Eggers. I dont know of any hatchery that sells true Ameraucanas.

White Ameraucana's do have green legs, but none of the other recognized colors do.

White Ameraucanas with green legs are carrying the gene for yellow skin. Their ancestors have been crossed with another breed at some point.

Green legs do not meet the APA standard for Ameraucanas and so they would be considered EEs by most breeders.
