Believe it or not, but I noticed today that 2 of my two day old ameraucanas are mimicking my cockatiel. They are actually repeating his calls. They've been doing it all day. Even if I whistle the call they repeat it. What kind of ameraucana's do you breed Cyn? Half chicken - half song bird?

What - you've got to be kidding me. A song that pretty can't come out of a cockeral.

Speaking of crowing, my 3 week old Wheat Penedesenca crowed twice today. I was sitting by their brooder talking to them and he fluttered his wings and crowed. I was about knocked out of my bobbie socks!

One of Scout's sons did crow at five days old. I didn't even recognize what he was doing, it took me so off guard. He did it for almost two days before I asked my DH what that chick was doing. He said, "Sounds like he's trying to crow". Sure enough, that's what it was. Cutest trill I ever heard!
