Please, will you help our pet? We are desperate: this is Doodle's last day before we give him to someone for slaughter. I have exhausted all other options for him...we have ads on all the farm-rescue sites in the central valley, and none of the local farms will take him.

We bought him as a sexed 3-day-old chick (from Western Feed in Sacramento) because we wanted a hen, but--our bad luck--he turned out to be a rooster. Roosters are not allowed in Davis, and he is crowing now. Even tried begging Western Feed for help (they offered none). We hand-raised this guy free-ranging in our (organic) backyard, so we are very sad to have to get rid of him. The Ameraucana breed carries a dominant gene for blue/green eggs. He is now 4-1/2 months old, incredibly healthy with a nice puffy mustache and blue legs; already proving to be a good watch-chicken over his two sisters. Will have a large fountain tail.

Help!
