Hi i have a 7 month old ameracauna and she hasnt layed in two weeks.

she layed green eggs at first but now has either changed color or stopped laying.

I have tried to check if she is egg bound, but she feels the same as my other five

What should i do?

Our EE is on "strike" and has not given us an egg in almost 1 1/2 weeks. I wonder if it has something to do with the time change -- the last time this happened was last fall when when changed back from daylight savings time. She resumed her almost-every-day production until recently!

no she still has all of her feathers and is acting normal except she isnt laying.

Now it has been at least three weeks , she doenst feel egg bound qnde seems to be acting normally. Could the fact that she is low on the pecking order would have any effect on this? I just want her to start lqying again

Looking at what she is eating? Too much corn/treats will lower her protein level, EVEN if you are feeding 16% laying feed! Does she have fresh water aval. at all times? IS she being pestered by the other hens-- more than normal? Have you change their routine--are you feeding at differnet times, were you free ranging and now they aren't, did you do a total clean out of their coop? Hve you checked every corner/nook that an egg can be laid in?? She might be getting run off the nest and has found a quieter place to lay!!! I know I would be sad if my EE weren't laying... Good luck

My EE goes through cycles, she will lay consistently for a month or two and then stop for a few weeks and back again. If we let her free range she finds a secret place to lay so we almost never see eggs from her while she is allowed to range.

She and all of the other ones are eating Hunt and Behrens Hay grain feed. They might get a few handfuls of scratch tossed in the pen, or some lettuce every day. The coop is 4 by 4 and the run is 12 by 12, i think that i would have seen her lay it. Could she possibly be laying her egg then eating it ? She alays has two sources of water, and she is on or near the bottom of the pecking order:(. I do a total clean out of the coop every three to four weeks, and i clean the run every few weeks as well. As you probably noticed, they are not free range, our backyard is too small

Is the "Hunt and Behrens Hay grain feed, 16% laying rations? I am not not sure of this Brand. Sounds like you are doing everything right... maybe she is just not in the mood...
