Hello!

Hi! I replied to your thread in the Breed ID forum. If I would have read through it better to see that they weren't from a hatchery, I would have said she was mixed breed instead of BSL (I mean BSLs are mixed breeds, but I don't think she is one.) Anyways, I was going to mention it there, but since I was here...

I hope your flock is doing well!

Hi! I'm new to BYC. After searching for probably a hundred questions and seeing many posts from BYC members with helpful info, I decided to dive in. From what I've seen everyone is so helpful and knowledgeable, I'm excited to be a part of this group.
I started by raising 8, 2-day old chicks about 2.5 years ago. My current flock consists of 2 Easter Eggers, 2 Rhode Island Reds and 1 Smokey Pearl. We recently added 5 new "pullets" (we hope). 2 Green Queens, 1 Silver Wyandotte, 1 Goldern Laced Wayondotte & 1 Blue Laced Red Wyandotte. They were 9 to 10 weeks old when we got them and are now about 14 to 15 weeks. I'm not positive if the Blue Laced Red Wyandotte is actually a BLRW and would like others opinions. Also the BLRW is very bold. It's always the first one to come up to me and seems to be sizing me up. (the others are still very skittish) Also, it has jumped feet first at me through the fence two different times, as I was standing still observing them. So I am wondering if it is a rooster. It desn't seem to be growing any faster than the others but it does have a straight comb starting even though the other Wyandottes have rose combs. I can't wait to get others opinions.
I am still learning but will contribute where I can.
More about me. I live in Connecticut. I like gardening and being outdoors. We have 2 Cavalier dogs.
Welcome to byc
