Chirping
I'm new to chickens, and still learning about the different breeds.
I recently chose some Ameraucana's as one of the breeds I want to raise and picked up some chicks yesterday.
When I got home with my little flock, I was looking at the babies with the list of breed descriptions and matching them to babies I got.
I paid for 4 Ameraucana's but only 2 fit the description given. I went back to get a couple more, and realized that most of the babies were darker.
I now understand that the puffy cheeks may take a little time to develop, but the color contrast is what threw me.
Two are noticeably lighter. Is that normal, or does that mean they might be roosters?
