Here is something that an Easter Egger can do that an Americana cant do. When you get an americana, you know what color the egg is gonna be but with EE's its so exciting because they lay so many different colors of eggs.

So I'm just curious, do they lay a different color every time or does each EE have their own signature color?

Yes they lay the same color. If they lay a mint green egg it will always be mint green but sometimes its a little lighter or darker mint green. Same with the olive greens, aqua, and pink. But it doesnt vary in color enough for me to not know who laid it.
Here is a baby chick picture of Fawn. She is a hatchery Easter Egger that a friend and I got at a Feed Store with other EEs.
She looked a bit like a buff orpington, but with puffy cheeks until a about 3 or 4 weeks old. I can understand how they could have gotten mixed up.
For comparison, here is a picture of my Leghorn hybrid with my Buff Orpington at the same age. The BO is on the right.
Fawn at 6 weeks
Fawn now looks like a twin to your pullet, ninanonna. This is my most recent picture of her. I think she was about 9 weeks in the photo, but she is about 13 weeks now and has even a little more buff lacing around her neck.

I especially like the ones of fawn as a chick. We got Harriet when she was already three weeks old, so we never saw her at her littlest. It's fun to see what she might have looked like.
