I know the Aracauna (sp) are rumpless (easy to distinguish from EE and Ameraucana. But how do you know if a chick is EE or Ameraucana?? I got my 2 "Ameraucana pullets from the feed store who purchased them from Privett Hatchery. I got a straight run "Ameraucana" from Tractor Supply who got theirs from Ideal.

Here is one of my Ameraucana Pullets (from Privett)

They're EEs if they do not fit the Ameraucana standard of perfection. Generally, unless they came from a breeder, they're likely EEs.

If they are from a hatchery they are most likely easter eggers. To get a true Ameraucana you really need to buy from a breeder.

They are very cute whatever they are.

I kinda figured a hatchery wouldn't be the "real" thing!

I do think they are adorable either way!!

Also realized this probably goes into the what breed is this threads, but thought y'all might enjoy baby pics!!

Can you see the cheek muffs? They look identical to my chicks that are said to be partridge rocks..Mine dont have visual muffs..I dont see muffs on yours so Im just wondering if mine ARE EE. You would think most places would order EE's around Easter!

i got mine from ideal ther EE but they still lay a blue egg every other day and there 4 years old.

My 2 that are definitely pullets (from Privett Hatchery through the feed store) do, but NONE of the ones from Ideal through Tractor Supply did. So I have 2 with muffs and 1 without.
