Ameraucana or Easter Eggers??

Here is my ST Ameraucana (from Ideal)

In this picture you can see one of my pullets beside the straight run and you can see her muffs. She has the bigger muffs of the two.

Huh, I never knew! I just got some Ameraucana eggs from a breeder who shows them, so they will or won't have puffy cheeks? I'm lost

. The pics are all super cute though!

They are supposed to have them as a breed trait, however, even in true breeds, an undesirable trait can on occasion pop up. And the sire of my rooster was definite show quality from excellent lines. I've had a beardless chick hatch from my Ameraucanas and you just don't use it for breeding. That one went in someone's layer flock. She'll still lay bluish eggs, at least, but as a rooster, that same bird wouldn't have had value as a breeder.

Well I can't have roos, so breeding will not be a consideration for me. Godd to know though if I plan to sell some as breeders-I need to brush up on the standard.
